Marine Gardens Bowling Club -Report w/ending Sunday, 29/05/2022

Marine Gardens Bowling Club had a busy bowling week, a friendly match against Grasshoppers. A Stracey Shield match against Lancing, followed by a friendly with East Preston and ending the week with a West Sussex Bowls League match away to Petworth, the week produced a mixed set of results for Marine Gardens BC.

            On Tuesday evening away to Grasshoppers, a friendly match was an arresting game, Grasshoppers being a team of former police officers and support staff, played at Pavilion Bowls Club.

Skip P Hughes, 9 - 16, Skip M Hitchin, 13 – 13, Skip M Berriman, 11 - 24, Skip J Nettleingham, 13 - 16 and Skip I Godsmark 27 – 7.
Marine Gardens 73 - Grasshoppers 76. Shot difference of 3. 

            Thursday, Marine Gardens travelled to Lancing for a Stracey Shield match, Marine Gardens going down on three rinks and drawing one.
Marine Gardens 58 - Lancing 93. Shot difference of 38.

Friday brought another away match; this was a friendly game at East Preston. 
Skip T Baldwin. A Leatham, and P Chambers, having a great win 30 – 9. 
Marine Gardens 78 - East Preston 83. Shot difference of 5.

            The week’s final match was on Saturday, again an away game at Petworth, a three rink WSBL on their Astro Turf green, with as expected, high scores from the home team taking all the points.
