Marine Gardens Bowling Club – Report w/ending 15, August 2021
(August 15, 2021)As bowlers we must be asking were has the summer weather gone, the number of matches in the latter part of July and early August rained off has been annoying to say the least. The latest casualty for Marine Gardens was Sundays West Sussex League match against the Witterings Bowls Club, which would have been our final league game for this season, the match points were shared between the clubs.
Monday Marine Garden were away to Goring Manor, in four rink friendly, played on a bright but breezy afternoon, Marine started well scoring at a steady rate per end, but Manor held their nerve and after breaking for tea came back strong to win the match on all rinks . Shots 60 -77 to Manor.

Wednesday Marine were on the road again, this time to Shoreham for a friendly match. As this was a friendly match, the Marine teams were playing two Shoreham players to let them have a game. Skip Jim Gray was trailing 13 - 17 going into the last end, with his last wood picking up the jack and trailing it through to score five shots to win on that rink. Marine loosing 63 -83

On Thursday Marine played in a four rink Brodie Tray match away to Maltravers, not a great trip for the visitors, loosing on all rinks, shots 57 – 74. But an enjoyable match for us all .
