Club Match Results
(September 30, 2018)Marine Gardens ended the 2018 season with a very special presentation made last Saturday. Over 55 members turned out to see club Captain Albie Marsella with President Mike Elborough present a cheque for £1,055.00 to 'Care For Veterans', the charity selected for the year by the Captain and was the result of fund raising activities on Fun Day held at the club's premises earlier in the summer.
There to receive the cheque was Ms Christine Gillot, Fundraising Officer for Care For Veterans who expressed her delight and appreciation on behalf of the charity organisation for the efforts made by all members of Marine Gardens in raising funds to assist in the residential care and other services for ex-Service personnel and their families.
Other activities in the afternoon included a 'Spider' competition, won by Pauline Sayer who took home a large bottle of whisky as the prize winner and a match of 6 rinks played over 18 ends involving all members followed by tea, cakes and sandwiches to round off what has been a successful and enjoyable year played throughout a glorious summer.
