Start of the 2018 new season
(April 21, 2018)Marine Gardens Bowling Club launched their 2018 season with Club President Mike Elborough bowling the first wood to officially open the proceedings with Club Captain Albie Marsella.
Over 60 members turned up for the event including new members David and Pauline Sayer together with Luigi and Janice Sebastiano.
The afternoon commenced with the ever popular Spider competion, the eventual winner, David Duffield collecting a bottle of Johnny Walker Whisky for his efforts.
Captain Albie welcomed everybody then all members participated in a friendly match played over 6 rinks. Top rink was awarded to Brian Fuller supported by Roger Parrish, Pauline Sayer and Gill Vernau. Albie then thanked everyone for attending the afternoon's activities especially those who recently joined the club.
Marine Gardens Bowling Club will be holding the first of two Open Days on Sunday 6th May giving people the opportunity to try their hand at this popular sport. Club members will be on hand to offer assistance and provide further information to those who are interested. Bowls and shoes will be provided with tuition available.
