Marine Gardens Bowling Club, report w/ending Sunday, 24th July 2022.
(July 24, 2022)The week started Sunday with Marine Gardens away to Billingshurst, in a four rink triples match, not a great outing for Marine Gardens having lost on all rinks.
Marine Gardens 48 shots - Billingshurst 89 shots. Shot difference 41.
Thursday, Marine Gardens were away to Worthing in a four rink Brodie Tray match, with Marine Gardens winning only one rink from four.
Marine Gardens 47 shots - Worthing 91 shots. Shot difference 44.
On Friday, Marine Gardens played host to Horsham Bowling Club in the first leg of our annual Centenary Bowl match, which looked like it would fall foul of the weather. As at the normal start time we were experiencing torrential rain, both teams decided to have the usual refreshments as we awaited the rain to clear, luckily it did.
With a later start the match commenced in bright sunshine, Horsham started well on all rinks, but Marine Gardens dug in and reeled them back in, the game finishing in favour of Marine Gardens 82 shots - Horsham 77 shots. Shot difference 5.
Marine Gardens now need to take that advantage into the second leg in September.
