Another busy week on the greens for Marine Gardens Bowling Club, a selection of matches, Friendlies, West Sussex Bowls League, and Brodie Tray.
The week commenced on Sunday with a WSBL match against East Preston, an away match in which the hosts took the honours, Mark Berriman’s team was Marine Gardens only winning rink.
Marine 48 - East Preston 68. Shot difference 20.
Wednesday, Marine Gardens were at home to Southwick Park in a four-rink friendly, both teams taking the win on two rinks each.
Marine 82 - Southwick Park 64. Shot difference 18.
Thursday, Marine Gardens travelled to Lancing for a Brodie Tray match, Marine Gardens winning three of the four rinks but lost overall by 8 shots.
Marine 68 - Lancing 76.
Saturday, the club President hosted a fun filled afternoon of bowls, attending members played a match of 15 ends, changing the format of play every 5 ends. The afternoon was designed to challenge the skills and tactics of the members match play.
The winning team, with a shot difference of 29, Leon White, John Nettleingham and Roger Parrish each received a bottle of wine, and the match was followed by tea, cakes, and a free raffle.
